Natural Awakenings NEFL

A Conscious Community for Natural Health & Sustainable Lifestyles

We are excited to be a part of this unique retreat experience in Cost Rica this April. The combination of the retreat program, resort amenities and lush wilderness and ocean breezes of Costa Rica will touch you at multiple levels. In addition excursions and eco-tours are available.

An immersion retreat offers the best in depth way to totally "un-plug" from your everyday pressures. We need to restore and revitalize our body, mind and spirit. Life is short as they say. In a world of testing and twitting, our lives run a full speed. Time just slips away. With this program you will reconnect, revitalize and refresh.

I will provide updates via this blog of our progress and happenings.

Transformation… how can yoga “transform” you? The practice of yoga on a routine basis, while applying several key points will create transformation over a period of time. The combination of drawing your awareness inward, shifting your mind from thinking and doing to feeling and being is essential. Becoming your own inner witness, the observer and the observed… feeling and the sensations and experiences you have during the practice are key. Maintaining focus via the gaze and breath control during this observation into, during and out of each pose are essential. Also, engaging core energy ties it all together. As you continue to practice with these all applied, takes you into yourself allowing for observation of your own experience and change. Transformation can be simply improved energy level, improved range of motion or simply more bounce in your step. It can lead to weight loss, a better balance with the world around you, a more positive outlook, an inquisitive view your life and its effects on others. Over time, it can lead to lifestyle changes. However, without the combined elements noted above, yoga is like calisthenics. With these elements the practice shifts from a “work out” to a “work in”.

Just a travel planning thought for those going from origins in Florida. Round trip flights to San Jose are very reasonable, about $275 to $300 via Orlando. I am sure there is similar pricing direct from other major cities. Not so bad in comparison to airfare to other destinations Kathy and I like to go to. Also, just an FYI, Joseph has been there many times, so if you need any advice or have questions regarding travel there, excursions or otherwise, do not hesitate to contact him directly. We are both on Face Book or simply call me at 904-571-3154.

During the retreat, Kathy and I will present a session and lead a practice focused on detoxification. In the contemporary and western view, detoxification focuses on the physical and chemical toxins we absorb through our everyday lives and environmental exposure. But there is more. We also absorb the equivalent of emotional toxins or have residual emotional toxins from past traumas. All three categories are important and must be addressed for complete healing and health. Our perspective is a holistic one, looking across and within our lives and life experiences coupled with yoga as the tool to reach and release for cleaning flow. This session will focus on these collectively and lead to release making way for improved energy flow, mental focus and vitality.
